Zain Cash Iraq adds Western Union to its mobile money offering

Electronic financial service ZainCash Iraq has announced the launch of Western Union international money transfer services through the ZainCash mobile application, enabling customers in Iraq to connect to more than 200 countries and territories.

Today, ZainCash processes close to two million financial transactions every month, with this amount continually increasing. ZainCash offers money transfers, bill payments, Mastercard and Visa virtual cards, mobile top up, government bill payments, digital goods and online payments, and will now provide international money transfer services through Western Union. ZainCash is the first mobile wallet in the country to integrate Western Union services on its app.

By adding Western Union’s remittance service, ZainCash Iraq says it will meet customers’ demand to send and receive funds from and to their loved ones and friends through a reliable, simple and entirely digital experience. Customers will be able to access this service through the ZainCash mobile app (available for iOS and Android).

ZainCash is the leading mobile payment company in Iraq with a 10,000-plus cash-in and cash-out agent network serving different Iraq regions and governorates.

Customers can sign up for a ZainCash account within minutes and will immediately be able to make international transfers. The ZainCash wallet enables customers to check the status of their transfers within the application.

ZainCash was licensed in 2016 under the Central Bank of Iraq to offer electronic financial services. Since its inception, ZainCash has facilitated billions of transactions for individuals, businesses, government entities and charity organizations.

Parent company Zain is a leading telecommunications operator across the Middle East and Africa, operating in Kuwait, Bahrain, Iraq, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, South Sudan, Sudan and, through a joint venture, in Morocco.
