Yankees have 4 prospects among MLB’s top 100 in latest ranking

Spring training is fast approaching and the New York Yankees will have the opportunity to look at talent throughout their organization.

And with that comes prospect rankings.

In the latest MLB top 100 prospect rankings, done by The Athletic’s Keith Law, he has at No. 8. Anthony Volpe (shortstop), no. 32 Jason Dominguez (outfield) no. 76 Oswald Peraza (shortstop) and no. 86 Everson Pereira (outfield).

For comparison’s sake, MLB Pipeline had three Yankees in the top 100. Volpe at no. 5, Dominguez at no. 47 and Peraza at no. 52.

At the start of last season, Volpe was ranked eighth by MLB Pipeline and moved up to no. 5 spot in May. The last time the Yankees had a prospect ranked higher than fifth was when Gleyber Torres was no. 3 in 2017.

The Yankees started last season with four prospects in MLB Pipeline’s top 100 with Volpe at No. 8, Peraza at No. 60, Dominguez at No. 61 and catcher Austin Wells at 96.
