KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The Ithaca College women’s soccer program was recently honored with the United Soccer Coaches Team Academic Award for the 2021-22 season. United Soccer Coaches announced their 2021-22 Team Academic Award recipients before the beginning of the 2022-23 season.
A total of 810 soccer teams (305 men, 505 women) posted a team grade point average of 3.0 or higher, thereby earning the United Soccer Coaches Team Academic Award for the 2021-22 academic year. Of that total, 154 schools had both their men’s and women’s programs recognized.
To qualify for the award, teams must have a minimum grade point average of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale. The Ithaca College women’s soccer team posted a cumulative 3.55 team GPA during the 2021-22 academic year. The Bombers have earned 18 United Soccer Coaches Team Academic Awards since 1999. IC earned the distinction from 1999 to 2004, followed by 2007, 2010 and 2011, and a stretch from 2013-17. The Bombers have since made the list three-straight years in a row (2019, 2020 and 2021).
United Soccer Coaches annually celebrates the academic achievements of high school and college soccer teams whose student-athletes collectively demonstrate a commitment to excellence in their studies over the course of a full academic year.
