Women’s Golf Sits Tied for 11th after Opening 36 of The “Mo”Morial

COLLEGE STATION, Texas – Charlotte women’s golf began The “Mo”Morial ending up tied for 11th after 36 holes of action on Tuesday. Kaiyuree Moodley led the way for the Niners sitting three-over after two rounds of play.

ROUND 1
Maia Samuelsson led the way in round one with a one-under 71 using five birdies in the opening round. Kayla Bartemeyer followed with a one-over 73 using a birdie on the par three seventh while Moodley came in with a three-over 75 draining a birdie on each side. Jette Schulze rounded out team scoring over the first 18 with a 79 (+7) while Abbey Schimpf made three birdies in a round of 85 (+13).

ROUND 2

Moodley remained at three-over on the day after carding an ever par 72 during the second circuit around the Traditions Golf Club. Moodley knocked down four more birdies, two on each side, to get to level in round two. Schulze improved six shots in the second round putting up a one-over 73 with a couple of birdies while Bartemeyer, who is currently tied for the lead in par three scoring, recorded three more birdies in her round of 75 (+3). Samuelsson struggled to a 78 (+6) despite three birdies in round two while Schimpf registered a second round 82 (+10).

TEAM TOTALS
Charlotte notched back-to-back team rounds of 298 (+10) to sit tied for 11th after 36 holes of play. Texas leads the event at -14, three shots clear of Texas A&M and seven ahead of Florida.

FINAL ROUND WEDNESDAY
