Wife of Browns’ Isaac Rochell offers candid look at NFL lifestyle

Allison Rochell, the wife of Browns defensive end Isaac Rochell, has a message for her TikTok followers: Don’t believe everything you see on TV.

Allison, who has been married to the 27-year-old pro since 2021, expressed that sentiment last week in a playful video, where she spoke about some of the unglamorous realities of being the wife of an NFL star.

“When my husband got drafted to the NFL, I thought to myself, ‘Wow, this is going to be so glamorous.’ That show ‘WAGs’ on E! Network had just come out and I just got a glimpse at NFL life. That glimpse was a lie,” Alison said.

As the video continued, Alison detailed how she was preparing for her cross-country move to Cleveland, where Rochell signed with the Browns in April.

In a separate TikTok video, Allison remarked: ‘POV: Tomorrow you start your solo 36 hour road trip to Cleveland because your husband is ‘too busy’ & he ‘has a game.’” She then quipped in the caption, “2 dogs , 1 cat, 36 hours – what could go wrong?”

Allison, who boasts 1.3 million followers on TikTok, frequently gives fans a peek into her life with Rochell, who was drafted out of Notre Dame in 2017, when he was selected in the seventh round by the Los Angeles Chargers. Most recently, he played for the Indianapolis Colts, whom he joined in March 2021.

In a recent TikTok video, Allison elaborated on a fan’s question regarding Rochell and roster moves.

“Issac is going into his sixth season in the NFL, so over the past five years we’ve learned a lot,” Allison explained. “A week into his first season, he lost his job. The next day, he was put on [the] practice squad, and almost five months later, he was put back on the main roster.

“Changes happen throughout the entire football season. You could have a two-year contract and still lose your job. You could have a three-year contract and still get traded. You could have guaranteed money and still lose your job. This lifestyle is kind of crazy. However, I am the type of person that I like to have a plan and stick to that plan until something changes the direction of that,” she continued.

Alison noted “there’s a chance” they could be uprooted from Cleveland after a week and land elsewhere.

“There is a chance we could move all the way to Cleveland, and, a week later, find out we’re moving to a different city. But there’s also a chance we could move there and stay there for the next seven months or the next three football seasons. While it might be a crazy type of lifestyle, it’s also fun and I am just along for the ride.”

Although life as a significant other to an NFL player is unique, to say the least, Allison wouldn’t have it any other way — especially when she is seeing “the love of [her] life chases his dreams.”

Rochell recorded a sack in the Browns’ preseason opener against the Jaguars last week, when Cleveland defeated Jacksonville, 24-13.
