Almost from the moment veteran Boston Celtics point guard Marcus Smart entered the league, he has had his fair share of detractors who find his high-intensity game to be about as fun to see their favorite team deal with as a rock in your shoe on a long hike.
Even among Celtics fans, the Flower Mound native’s intense approach to NBA basketball can create divisions among those who tend to see the negatives of his game and those who see how the Oklahoma State product contributes to winning basketball. And although the latter may overestimate Smart’s skill as an NBA player, he is also not as bad as his detractors seem to believe.
