The Boston Celtics have signed forward Vincent Valerio-Bodon, a Hungarian basketball player born in the Dominican Republic, to a contract to join their roster for the NBA’s 2023 Las Vegas Summer League team. The 6-foot-10 swingman surprisingly went undrafted in the 2023 NBA draft but caught the attention of the Celtics.
Valerio-Bodon last played for Sopron KC in the Hungarian League last season, and the athletic, skilled forward has an ability to finish strong around the basket that could serve him well at the NBA level. Projected as a second round pick, A little older at age 22, he is quick and agile on the court, with good passing ability to boot. Valerio-Bodon’s performance in the summer league will be worth watching for Boston fans, with the swingman a solid candidate for one of the Celtics’ three two-way slots.
