More history in the making as Texan Soccer hits the road for their first regular season games and Texan Volleyball hosts their Block Party 2-set scrimmage.
There will be three games total in Tarleton sports this week, beginning with the Texan Soccer team taking on North Dakota State on Friday in Thibodaux, Louisiana, in the Lester Bimah Battle on the Bayou. Later that night, Wisdom Gym will be glowing as Texan Volleyball plays in a Purple vs. White scrimmage at the Block Party. The week ends on Sunday with Tarleton Soccer playing the host team Nicholls.
TEXAN SOCCER pitched a 1-0 shutout in their exhibition against a Texas A&M-Corpus Christi team that finished top four in the Southland Conference last season. The Texans will play their first regular season games in school history in Thibodaux, Louisiana. The first comes on Friday at 7:30 pm CT in a bittersweet matchup against North Dakota State. Head coach Pete Cuadrado spent nine seasons as the head coach of the Bison from 2003-2011. Their final game of the weekend comes against Nicholls at 1:30 pm CT. Nicholls is hosting the Lester Bimah Battle on the Bayou. The Texans’ next game will be their first at the Tarleton Soccer Complex for their home opener against Arkansas-Pine Bluff.
TEXAN VOLLEYBALL is beginning their 2022 season in style with a glow-in-the-dark themed Block Party. The 2-set scrimmage will begin at 9 pm with doors opening at 8 pm and glow item giveaways. Mary Schindler begins her 18th season as head coach of the Tarleton Volleyball program. Schindler is the winningest coach in program history with a career record of 345-196 and looks to produce her 14th straight winning season. Texan Volleyball begins their regular season in Wisdom Gym, as they host the Texan Invitational Aug. 26-27. Their first game comes at 10 am Aug. 26 against Fairleigh Dickinson.

TICKETS are available for all upcoming home events online at TarletonSports.com/tickets. Admission to all home Tarleton soccer games and the Block Party is free to the public. The ticket office is open from 9 am to 12 pm and 1 pm to 5 pm at Memorial Stadium. Student tickets are available for free to Tarleton students from any campus with a valid university ID number but must be ordered in advance at TarletonSports.com/tickets.
