The silver lining for the Flyers is that the last two losses were in overtime so at least they managed to earn a couple of points. Winnipeg is in jeopardy of losing three straight as they’ve dropped two after winning back-to-back. In the process, Winnipeg has slipped a bit in the Central standings, sitting three points behind Dallas. Both teams lost 3-2 in their last games with the Jets falling to the Buffalo Sabers at home. Buffalo scored the first three goals after a scoreless first period. Winnipeg tried to keep it close with two goals in the last five minutes but it was too late by then. The win was Buffalo’s fifth straight.

Philly also lost 3-2 but in overtime in their last game against the Minnesota Wild. Noah Cates scored the first goal of the game to give the Flyers the lead. But Philadelphia couldn’t stop Matt Boldy who scored both of Minnesota’s regulation goals. Mats Zuccarello made sure that effort didn’t go to waste by scoring the walk-off goal. For good measure, Boldy got an assist on that OT goal. Who will break their losing streak first tonight?
