The Hurricanes keep finding ways to win. Carolina was down a goal with less than five minutes left when Jordan Staal tied it. Jaccob Slavin scored the game winner just 23 seconds into the extra period with an assist from Brent Burns who earned his 800th point. He’s just the 18th defenseman in NHL history to do that. Everything is going right for Carolina right now.
The Flyers will have a tall task tonight but they nearly upset the Toronto Maple Leafs ultimately losing 4-3 on the road Thursday. The Flyers scored the first goal of the night but Toronto was relentless from that point scoring four straight goals. The Flyers didn’t fold though and showed some resiliency scoring two late goals.
