Vegas finally ended the Bruins’ 14-game winning streak at home when Smith scored in the fifth shootout round on Monday night for a 4-3 win. The Golden Knights led 3-0 just 51 seconds into the second period on Paul Cotter’s second goal of the game, but the Bruins battled back to tie it at 3:08 into the third period. Thompson made 40 saves in the win.
The Rangers rallied for three third period goals to beat the visiting Blues on Monday. K’Andre Miller tied the game with his first goal of the season at 4:48 into the third period, before Alexis Lafreniere scored his fourth of the year at the 8:16 mark to give New York a 5-4 lead. Kreider’s shorthanded tally at 14:04 provided some insurance.
Vegas leads the all-time series 4-2-2 and swept both games last season, including a 5-1 win at T-Mobile Arena on Jan. 6.
