Bruins vs. Panthers live stream: Watch NHL first round Game 5 online originally appeared on NBC Sports Boston
The Boston Bruins will eliminate the Florida Panthers from the 2023 Stanley Cup Playoffs if they win Game 5 at TD Garden on Wednesday night.
After splitting the first two games of this first-round series in Boston, the Bruins won both Games 3 and 4 in Florida by a combined score of 10-4. The Bruins’ depth was fantastic as players up-and-down the lineup contributed to the scoring onslaught. B’s goalie Linus Ullmark also played fantastic and now has a .926 save percentage and a 3-1-0 record in the series.
Projected lines, pairings for Bruins ahead of pivotal Game 5
The Panthers need more from their top stars. Aleksander Barkov and Carter Verhaeghe have combined to score only one goal in this series. Verhaeghe led the Panthers with 42 goals during the regular season.
Goaltending is also a concern for the Panthers. Alex Lyon started the first three games and has a .902 save percentage with a 3.26 GAA. Sergei Bobrovsky was in net for Game 4 and allowed five goals on 30 shots. It’s going to be very tough for Florida to win any more games in this series unless the goaltending shows dramatic improvement. Florida doesn’t have the depth to win a high-scoring shootout with Boston.
