Metropolitan Division rivals face off today as the New York Rangers take their three-game winning streak to face the New Jersey Devils in an afternoon tilt. The Rangers have won 11 of their last 14 games and are closing in on the Carolina Hurricanes atop the division including a 5-3 home win against Carolina on Tuesday night. The Devils started the season winning twenty-one of their first twenty-six games but have only tallied three wins in the last thirteen times on the ice. This is the third of four meetings this season with both teams winning a game at Madison Square Garden.

Devils center Jack Hughes is eighth in the NHL with a team-high 24 goals, including six in his last four games. The Devils took Hughes as the number one overall pick in the 2019 NHL Draft and he is on pace to set career-highs in goals and assists this season. Hughes needs just three goals to surpass the 26 goals he scored in 49 games last season.
The Rangers duo of winger Artemi Panarin and center Mika Zibanejad have combined for 88 points through their first forty games this season. Panarin’s 34 assists are the sixth-most in the NHL this season while Zibanejad has five points in his last four games.
New York has won ten of the last twelve games against New Jersey including four of the last five at the Prudential Center.
