The Islanders begin a four-game road trip on Sunday when they travel to Seattle to take on the Kraken. The Islanders swept through a three-game homestand, beating the Penguins, Panthers and Blue Jackets by a combined score of 12-3. It was an impressive run for an Islanders team that had won just three of its previous 11 games. The Islanders are now 21-14-2 on the season and have moved into a fourth place tie with the Penguins and Rangers in the Metropolitan Division, three points behind the Capitals. They have been playing well and will look to continue it on Sunday against a Kraken team that has lost three straight.

The Kraken really struggled in the month of December, as they lost eight of their 12 games and it has dropped them to fifth place in the Pacific Division, two points behind the Oilers.
The Kraken had won a franchise-best seven in a row before this slump and are trying to get back their mojo from the beginning of the season. Sunday they hope that starts with a big home win against a streaking Islanders team.
