The New York Rangers look to climb the standings in the Metropolitan Division as they take on the Montreal Canadiens, who have the least amount of points in their division. New York has won four of its last five games and is looking for its third straight win. Both teams are coming off 2-1 games, but were on the opposite sides of each outcome.
New York beat Dallas 2-1 in overtime. This was not a high scoring game in any sense and it was the Rangers third straight game decided outside of regulation. No goals were scored in the first period and Tyler Seguin scored a goal in the second period and then defenseman K’Andre Miller got the equalizer with just .2 seconds left on the clock. Adam Fox made sure to capitalize by scoring the game-winner in overtime to truly seal the deal.
