Halfway through a four-game west coast road swing, the Edmonton Oilers look for their first winning streak since December tonight as they skate into San Jose to face off against the Sharks. The Oilers have dropped four of their last six games and are clinging to the final playoff spot as the season has passed the midway point. The Sharks trail Edmonton by 13 points heading into tonight and are in search of their first multi-game winning streak since Dec. 13th, a span of 13 games. This is the first of four games between Pacific division rivals as the Oilers swept San Jose during the 2021-22 season.

The Oilers own the NHL’s best power-play unit, scoring on 31% of opportunities with the man advantage. Edmonton centers Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl have a combined 29 goals and 42 assists on the Power Play this season although the duo has only one point in their last two games.
San Jose’s Erik Karlsson leads the Sharks, and is the highest scoring defenseman in the NHL. Karlsson’s 43 assists this year is his highest in the last four seasons and is on pace to smash his career-high of 66 set in 2015-16 with Ottawa.
Sharks winger Timo Meier has scored eight goals and tallied five assists in his last ten games.
