Columbus is battling injuries and leading goal scorer Boone Jenner is on injured reserve with a thumb ailment. Johnny Gaudreau has 10 goals and 34 points for the Jackets, who are cycling through three goalies who have each made 11 starts.

New York returned from Christmas break with a 5-1 drubbing of the Penguins on Tuesday. Mathew Barzal and Anders Lee scored two goals apiece as the Islanders took control of the game with three tallies in the second period. New York outshot Pittsburgh 42-21 in the win.
Columbus had its game on Tuesday against the Sabers postponed as the Buffalo area struggled to dig out from the weekend blizzard. In their last game on Friday, the Blue Jackets took a 5-2 loss at Chicago. They trailed 4-0 before Kirill Marchenko found the back of the net on the power play in the second period. Marcus Bjork also scored.
The Isles are 2-0 against the Blue Jackets so far this season, winning at Columbus 3-2 on Nov. 25.
