The defending Stanley Cup Champions are mired in a four-game losing streak and now to beat the blues brought on from this skid, they have to beat the St. Louis Blues today in a Sunday matinee divisional matchup. After scoring six goals in a win at Buffalo to begin December, the Avalanche have only scored five goals in their last four games. St. Louis has dropped seven of their last nine games and five of their last six and come into today just four points behind Colorado in the Central Division, but 13 points shy of the division-leading Winnipeg Jets.

Since lifting the cup in June, Colorado has had a streaky start to the 2022-23 National Hockey League season winning nine of 12 games in late October through late November, before this current run of six losses in their last eight games. Their second-ranked Power Play unit, converting on 30.0% of opportunities with the man advantage, has been held scoreless in each of the last two games.
Center Robert Thomas leads the Blues with 18 assists and 24 points and comes into today’s game on a five-game point streak. Thomas is two goals shy of fifty for his five-year NHL career.
Colorado has a better road record than they do at home going 8-6-0, tied for the second most road wins in the Western Conference this season.
The Blues won the first matchup between these teams on Nov. 11, as Jordan Kyrou’s goal one minute into the third period proved to be the game-winner.
