The Avalanche have won their last two contests – 7-0 over the Ottawa Senators and 6-3 over the Detroit Red Wings – giving them some momentum heading into this matchup. Calgary had won two games in a row, before falling 2-1 to the Nashville Predators on Monday.

These teams first played on Oct. 13, the season opener for the Flames and the second game of the year for the Avalanche. Calgary held on for a 5-3 win, but at one point in the third period had a 5-1 lead. Defenseman Rasmus Andersson led the way with a goal and an assist.
