Buffalo tied up the game with just 1:30 left in regulation on a power play goal from Kyle Okposo. There were four lead changes in the game but Jeff Carter scored a power play goal of his own to clinch the game. The penalty came with just 22 seconds left in regulation when Jeff Skinner of Buffalo cross-checked Jake Guentzel of Pittsburgh. Skinner’s lapse in judgment so late in the game cost Buffalo the game.
