Washington Ends In 1-1 Draw With Air Force

  • by

SEATTLE – The No. 3/2 Huskies outshot Air Force 19-2 but it wasn’t enough as Washington ended the afternoon in a 1-1 draw with the Falcons.

TopDrawerSoccer and United Soccer Coaches National Player of the Week Elijah Paul kept his hot streak alive, scoring a goal off a header in the first two minutes of action off assists from Chris Meyers and Lucas Meek.

The Falcons recorded two shots on goal but could not capitalize until the last minutes of regulation when Air Force hit the equalizer in the 88th minute.

Both teams stayed aggressive the whole 90 minutes and it showed in the stats sheet, with 18 total fouls and two penalty kick opportunities for the Huskies. The Falcons’ goalkeeper saved both kicks from connecting with the goal to keep Air Force alive.

UW will be home at Husky Soccer Stadium for the next two contests on Sept. 16 vs. Michigan State and Sept. 20 vs. Seattle U. Single game tickets are available by clicking here.
