On Sunday morning, the Phoenix Suns and Washington Wizards made headlines with a blockbuster trade surrounding three-time All-Star shooting guard Bradley Beal.
The Suns are trading Chris Paul, Landry Shamet and multiple second-round picks to land the veteran guard in the desert. Beal will now join forces with Devin Booker and Kevin Durant to form a fierce trio in the Western Conference.
Prior to the blockbuster deal, the Suns were reportedly discussing potential deals for Paul with other teams, including the Golden State Warriors. In an appearance on FanDuel TV, Shams Charania of The Athletic reported the Warriors and the Los Angeles Clippers were teams that discussed potential deals with the Suns for Paul.

As the Warriors look to reload after being eliminated in the second round of the postseason, Paul would be able to give Steve Kerr another ballhandler in an already decorated backcourt that features Steph Curry, Klay Thompson and Jordan Poole.
In the 2022-23 season. Paul averaged 13.9 points on 44% shooting from the field and 37.5% from beyond the arc with 8.9 assists and 4.3 rebounds in 32 minutes per game over 59 games for the Suns.
The 38-year-old guard has made 12 trips to the All-Star game and earned 11 All-NBA appearances in his 18-year career.
