Virginia Tech swimming & diving releases 2022-23 schedule

BLACKSBURG – Head coach Sergio Miro Lopez and the Virginia Tech swimming & diving team unveiled its 2022-23 competitive schedule on Monday morning. The Hokies will participate in nine regular season meets, with three taking place at the Christiansburg Aquatic Center.

Tech will start its upcoming slate when the women host both George Washington and Ohio on Oct. 1 to begin its fall campaign. Three weeks later, the maroon and orange face an ACC opponent when the Hokies travel to Durham, NC, to face off against the Duke Blue Devils.
That following weekend, head coach Lopez Miro’s squad returns home once again. This time, hosting Ohio State in a two-day event, with the meet taking place on both Oct. 28 and Oct. 29.

After a three-week layover, Tech will see the Buckeyes once again in the Ohio State Invite up in Columbus, Ohio. A three-day invitational, the Hokies will participate in the event from Nov. 17-19 that consists of a multitude of other schools.

Tech then continues its venture on the road, traveling to the US Open in Greensboro, NC from Nov. 30 – Dec. 3, Queens on Jan. 7, Virginia on Jan. 14, and Penn State on Jan. 21. The date with the Cavaliers will count in the annual Smithfield Commonwealth Clash.

The Hokies return home one final time for the three-day Virginia Tech Invitational from Feb. 3-5 before hitting the road for the Men’s and Women’s ACC Championships at the Greensboro Aquatic Center from Feb. 14 – 18.

The NCAA Zone A Diving Championships will be held in Morgantown, WV, from Mar. 6-8, the Women’s NCAA Championships take place in Tennessee from Mar. 15-18, and the Men’s NCAA Championships will be in action from Mar. 22-25 up in Minnesota.

Virginia Tech looks to continue the momentum from the 2021-22 campaign in which the men’s program tied their highest-ever finish at the NCAA Championship, 11th overall, while scoring the most points in program history, 143. The women’s team set three school records at the ACC Championship and Tech as a whole returned to Blacksburg with 14 medals .
