Transfer running back Bhayshul Tuten has had a change of heart.
After committing to Boston College on Christmas Eve, the North Carolina A&T Aggies standout running back has changed his transfer plans and is now headed to Virginia Tech.
Tuten visited Virginia Tech officially over the past weekend.
Tuten is the sixth transfer to commit to Virginia Tech ahead of the 2023 season and is the fifth offensive recruit to transfer into the university. Tuten joins quarterback Kyron Drones (Baylor), wide receivers Ali Jennings (Old Dominion), Da’Quan Felton (Norfolk State), and Jaylin Lane (Middle Tennessee State), along with defensive back Derrick Canteen (Georgia Southern) on Virginia Tech’s transfer commit list.
During the 2023 season, Tuten rushed for 1,363 yards and 13 touchdowns on 208 carries as a runner. He also caught 31 passes for 572 yards and four touchdowns through the air. His rushing performance was the fifth-best single-season rushing performance in school history. He also broke the school and conference records for consecutive 100-yard games in a season.
His 2022 stats led the conference in all-purpose yards per game (155.0), yards per carry (6.55), rushing touchdowns (13), rushing yards, rushing yards per game (123.9), scoring (9.3), and total touchdowns.
He ranked in the top-10 nationally in total touchdowns, scoring, rushing yards per game, rushing yards, rushing touchdowns and all-purpose yards.
He was named among 30 finalists for the Walter Payton award.
