August 7, 2022 – Major Arena Soccer League (MASL) – Florida Tropics SC News Release
LAKELAND, Fla. – The Florida Tropics will be well represented Saturday, Aug. 13 when the US National Arena Soccer Team will meet Mexico in an indoor soccer friendly in Boise, Idaho.
Current MASL Defender of the Year Chad Vandegriffe, former MASL Defender of the Year Drew Ruggles and Zach Reget, former league Rookie of the Year, are all part of the 14-man roster announced for the game.
The three Tropics stars were key to leading Florida to the championship round of the Major Arena Soccer League playoffs last spring, and all will be back for the seventh season of pro indoor soccer at the RP Funding Center in Lakeland late this fall. Vandegriffe and Reget, who were free agents after last season, both signed multi-year contracts with the Tropics this summer.
They will join a who’s who of MASL stars including Franck Tayou, Uzi Tayou, Brian Farber and Justin Stinson. The USA side will be coached by Phil Salvagio of the San Diego Sockers.

The US National Arena Soccer Team and US6 National Team are administered by the American Association of Soccer 5-6-7, which is the United States license holder and charter member of the World Minifootball Federation.
AAS567 oversees small-sided soccer competitions in the modalities of 5, 6, and 7 a-side, as well as arena soccer in the United States.
