OREM, Utah – The Utah Valley Wolverines picked up their eighth straight win after taking down Utah Tech 71-60 on Saturday afternoon at the UCCU Center.
Utah Valley ended the game on an 11-1 run over the last 3:29 of the game, while Utah Tech was held scoreless in the final 2:38 of the game. The Wolverines outscored the Trailblazers 44-33 in the first half and the two teams scored 27 points each in the second half.

Utah Valley Beats Utah Tech For Eighth Straight Win
Leading the way for Utah Valley was Trey Woodbury with 20 points, six rebounds, and five assists. He shot 8-of-12 from the field and 4-for-5 from the three-point line. Le’Tre Darthard dropped 18 points and six rebounds. Justin Harmon added 10 points.
The Wolverines shot 46% from the field, 34% from the three-point line, and 68% at the free-throw line.
For Utah Tech, Isaiah Pope led the way with 14 points, six rebounds, and four assists. Jacob Nicolds was the only other Trailblazer to score in double figures with 12 points. As a team, Utah Tech shot 35% from the field, 21% from beyond the arc, and 68% at the foul line.
Utah Tech committed 20 turnovers, while UVU had 17 miscues. The Wolverines scored 19 points off of turnovers, compared to 18 points off of miscues for Utah Tech. The Trailblazers won the rebounding battle 38-34 and had 13 second-chance points to the Wolverines’ four second-chance points.
Utah Valley improved its record to 11-4 overall and 2-0 in WAC play. They will be on the road for three straight games beginning Thursday, January 5 against UT Arlington at 6:00 pm MT, January 7 versus UTRGV at 5:30 pm MT, and Wednesday, January 11 against California Baptist at 8:00 pm MT .
Utah Tech dropped its record to 9-6 overall and 1-1 in WAC play. They will be on the road to face California Baptist on Thursday, January 5 at 8:00 pm MT. All three games for both teams will be broadcast on ESPN+.
