SALT LAKE CITY – Utah Tech shrugged off a sluggish first half to score 28 unanswered points on their way to a 56-10 win over Chadron State.

The Utah Tech Trailblazers hosted the Chadron State Eagles in their 2022 home opener at Greater Zion Stadium in St. George, UT on Saturday, September 10.

The Eagles tied it up in the second quarter when Jalen Starks rushed up the middle for a one yard touchdown run early in the period.

The score would remain 7-7 at halftime.

Coming out of the half, Utah Tech took over.

Chadron State took the second half kickoff and on the third play from scrimmage, Heath Beemiller’s pass was intercepted by Kaejin Smith-Bejgrowicz who took it all the way back for a touchdown.

On their next possession, the Trailblazers went 80-yards in just over three minutes. Kobe Tracy hit Malcolm Ross-Turner for the touchdown.

Leading 21-7, Conley added his second rushing TD of the night to break the game open.

On the first play of the fourth quarter, Tracy lofted a deep ball down the right sideline that found a wide open Joey Hobert for a 38 yard score.

Just 26 seconds later, Trailblazer corner Tyrell Grayson picked off a Beemiller pass and found his way into the end zone for the second pick-six of the night for Utah Tech.

Following an Eagle field goal to make the score 49-10, Conley added his third rushing touchdown of the night.
