The Aggies open the fall season on Thursday and Friday, Sept. 1-2, at Ogden Golf & Country Club in Ogden, Utah, against Weber State in a match play event. The two teams squared off against each other last year at the Logan Golf & Country Club, with the Wildcats coming out victorious.
Utah State then heads to the Centennial State for the 53rd annual Gene Miranda Falcon Invitational, hosted by the Air Force, Friday through Sunday, Sept. 9-11, at the academy’s Eisenhower Golf Club. The 54-hole tournament, which will be played over three days, begins on the Blue Course.
The Aggies finished in 18th place against the 2021 Falcon Invitational 21-team field as they posted a 54-hole team score of 34-over 898 (307-292-299).
Utah State then travels to Chesterton, Indiana, for the Valpo Fall Invitational on Monday and Tuesday, Sept. 19-20. The tournament will take place at Sand Creek Country Club.
The Aggies’ last visit to the Hoosier State was in the fall of 2017, when they placed seventh out of 13 teams at the Notre Dame-hosted Fighting Irish Classic held at the Warren Golf Course in South Bend, Indiana.
The fourth event of the fall will see the Aggies head to Erie, Colorado, for the Mark Simpson Colorado Invitational on Monday and Tuesday, Oct. 3-4, at Colorado National Golf Club. The first two rounds will take place on Monday, while the final 18 holes will be played on Tuesday.
Cameron Tucker led Utah State at the 2021 Simpson Invitational as the grad senior shot a career-best 4-under 212 (68-69-75) for the tournament to tie for 33rd. After entering the final day in 16th place, the Aggies climbed two spots to finish at 14-over 878 (292-295-291).
Utah State makes its lone trip of the fall campaign to the Golden State on Monday and Tuesday, Oct. 10-11, for the 26th annual CSUN-hosted Bill Cullum Invitational at The Oaks Club at Valencia (California).
Led by a fifth-place finish from Esteban Jaramillo, a true freshman last year, the Aggies finished tied for fifth in the 12-team field at 34-over par at the 2021 Cullum Invitational. It was their best finish of the fall season. Competing in just his third career tournament, Jaramillo led the 79-player field with 15 birdies. He also ranked third in par-4 scoring with an average of 3.97.
Utah State concludes the fall portion of its schedule at the Oral Roberts Invitational on Monday and Tuesday, Oct. 24-25, at the Oaks Country Club in Tulsa, Oklahoma. The last time the Aggies played a tournament in the Sooner State was during the fall of 2008, when they finished ninth out of 12 teams at the Bob Hurley Auto Oral Roberts Shootout.
