SALT LAKE CITY – Former Stanford Cardinal and current Utah Utes defensive end Gabe Reid announced that he is turning pro and declaring for the 2023 NFL Draft. Reid spent his final season of eligibility at Utah after transferring from Stanford and was a difference-maker down the stretch off the edge for the Utes.

Reid made his announcement Friday morning, thanking his coaches, teammates, and family for their continued support and a memorable final season of college eligibility that included a Pac-12 Title for the transfer and a visit to the Rose Bowl with his brother, Karene. by his side.

Gabe Reid’s Impact At Utah, Stanford

Reid played in 12 total games in his final season as a college football player with four starts. The defensive end’s final 2022 stats had 39 total tackles which led Utah’s defensive line, five and a half sacks which led the entire defense and one pass defended. The super senior brought a lot of maturity and experience to a very talented defensive end room that was a little green in 2022 and it earned him an AP Pac-12 All-Conference First-Team nod.

Before Reid was a Ute, he was a Cardinal playing football for Stanford. Reid signed in the 2018 class and spent four seasons in Palo Alto before transferring to the University of Utah. From the jump, Reid proved to be very productive off the edge recording very similar stats his freshman year (34 total tackles and five and a half sacks) to his final year with the Utes.

Reid now joins linebacker Mohamoud Diabate, tight end Dalton Kincaid, and cornerback Clark Phillips III in pursuit of the NFL dream in the upcoming 2023 Draft.
