For 2023, Lincoln is adding one of the brand’s most important tech features to the Corsair crossover: Lincoln ActiveGlide 1.2, the company’s hands-free highway driving assistance system, joins the list of available features. The optional new tech is joined by user interface upgrades, some styling changes, and new colors offered inside and out.
ActiveGlide is the Lincoln version of Ford’s BlueCruise. The hands-off driver assist feature can handle semi-autonomous driving in many situations on pre-scanned highways, much like GM’s better-known Super Cruise.
The latest version of Lincoln’s system adds lane-change assist that can change lanes hands-free when the driver taps the turn signal. In slower traffic, it will even suggest lane changes as appropriate. Also part of version 1.2 is Predictive Speed Assist, which smoothly slows the vehicle for sharp curves or speed-limit changes. Lastly, In-Lane Repositioning is meant to make ActiveGlide feel more natural; it will do things like moving to the other side of the lane if you’re beside a big rig.
Lincoln is growing the Corsair’s standard infotainment display. It’s now a large 13.2-inches and comes with Sync4 as well as Lincoln Enhance over-the-air software upgrades. Alexa built-in will also be complimentary for three years.
The new grille is much larger than in 2022, and on the Grand Touring PHEV version it is finished with metallic foil and blue accents for a warmer look. Crystal Red paint is added to the lineup, as is Whisper Blue. The latter is new to Lincoln. On the inside, color changes include a new Smoked Truffle theme as well as Eternal Red.
The powertrains remain the same: Lincoln will offer the 2023 Corsair with a 2.0L turbo-four making 250 hp and as a PHEV Grand Touring model that delivers 266 hp, all-wheel drive, and an estimated 45 km electric range.
Order books for the 2023 Lincoln Corsair are open now, vehicles are expected to hit showrooms early next year. Pricing is not yet available.
