There are five NHL games on the schedule for Sunday, providing plenty of betting options.
The pregame narrative: The Vegas Golden Knights have been nothing short of dominant early in the season, the Arizona Coyotes are abysmal when it comes to creating offense and Kirill Kaprivoz appears to be following up his special 2021-22 with an even better season.

NHL picks
[Best Bet] : Golden Knights -1.5 (-112)
It was hard to know what to expect from Vegas entering the season, but a 7-2-0 record is certainly a surprise.
The start of the Bruce Cassidy era has been fruitful for the club as they lead the Western Conference in points and concede fewer goals than any other NHL team.
We anticipate their run of success won’t end on Sunday as their opponents — the Winnipeg Jets — have been a middling team thus far, producing a +2 goal differential in nine games.
One major advantage Vegas has in this matchup is the way it wins the scoring-chance battle, something that can’t be said for the Jets.
Team | Scoring chance % | High-Danger scoring chance% |
Jets | 46.6% | 42.7% |
Golden Knights | 53.3% | 58.9% |
If Vegas succeeds in tilting the ice the way they have all year, it’s hard to imagine Winnipeg pulling an upset on the road.
Surprisingly, the Golden Knights can also claim a goaltending edge as its tandem has produced a gaudy .940 save percentage this year, with a .949 mark at even strength.
Although that may be a statistical blip considering the limited track record of Logan Thompson and Adin Hill, Cassidy does have a history of getting his team to play a structured brand of hockey that benefits his goaltenders.
Key stats: Four of the last Golden Knights’ games have resulted in a multi-goal win for Vegas.
Quick picks
Coyotes under 2.5 goals (-127): Arizona generates an NHL-worst 22.9 shots per game, and we don’t see the Coyotes turning that kind of output into three goals against a team with some of the most intimidating goaltending in the league.
The Rangers’ goal suppression hasn’t been as strong as it was last season yet in 2022-23, but they allowed the ninth-fewest shots in the NHL. New York’s ability to dominate possession in this game should keep the puck out of the club’s net.
Kaprizov anytime goal (+114): We’re happy to back Kaprizov at these odds in any plus matchups and the Chicago Blackhawks certainly fit that description.
Although Chicago has been better than expected, the team still allows the ninth-most goals in the NHL. Meanwhile, Kaprizov has seen his ice time bumped by more than two minutes from last season, and he’s averaging four shots per game.
The result has been six goals scored in eight contests, and he’s got an excellent chance to light the lamp again on Sunday.
