Program is open to Black 11th and 12th grade students
OKLAHOMA CITY, Tuesday, Aug. 30, 2022– The Thunder Fellows program is accepting applications for the 2022-23 school year.
Applications are open to Black high school students in 11th and 12th grade in the Tulsa area. The 24-week, free after-school program runs from early October to May 2023 and helps students gain technical knowledge, critical thinking, coding proficiency, mentorship, and networking opportunities. Students must complete the online application by Friday, Sept. 16 to be considered.
“Thunder Fellows is a unique program that caters to a direct need in the Greenwood District and all of Tulsa,” said Cedric Ikpo, Thunder Fellows executive director. “We are committed to developing and growing the next generation of Black Wall Street leaders in hopes they will pay it forward, reinvest and revitalize Black Tulsa.”
Located in the historic Greenwood District, Thunder Fellows applies a data and analytics curriculum, uniquely tailored to industry standards so students can be proficient in essential skillsets and gain hands-on experiences highly sought after by recruiters. The program leverages a strategic pipeline of local and national contacts to provide exclusive access to mentors, professional coaching, and meaningful employment opportunities.
