The new-look Sixers rank 10th in ESPN’s 2022-23 NBA power rankings

The Philadelphia 76ers went to work early and often in the 2022 offseason as they added the likes of PJ Tucker, De’Anthony Melton, Danuel House Jr., and Trevelin Queen to the roster in order to improve their depth.

The Sixers lost a lot of depth in the deal that brought James Harden to Philadelphia and these additions figure to fix that problem as they improve the supporting cast around Harden and Joel Embiid. On paper, this is arguably the best roster the Sixers have put around Embiid in his career.

ESPN put together their latest edition of the 2022-23 power rankings ahead of the new season and the Sixers come in ranked 10th in the new rankings:

The 76ers knew they needed to shore up some weaknesses this offseason, namely athleticism, rebounding and toughness. By adding De’Anthony Melton, Daniel House Jr. and PJ Tucker, Philadelphia did just that. Those moves were made possible largely because James Harden took a pay cut, which signaled that everyone in the franchise is pulling in the same direction.

The Sixers have a very strong roster at the moment as they prepare for training camp which will begin at the end of September. Time will tell whether the new additions will pay off, but with Embiid and Harden leading the way, they figure to be one of the top teams in the Eastern Conference in the 2022-23 season.
