Malaysian telco Telekom Malaysia Bhd. is reorganizing its businesses in the country into a single entity as it looks to strengthen its market leadership in fixed-mobile services.
The company said in a release Wednesday that it will combine Unifi, TM One and TM Wholesale into an entity named TMTechnology Services Sdn Bhd. It expects to complete the reorganization by the end of next year.
Telekom Malaysia will serve as the holding company for TM Tech, the release said.
The company said the move will reinforce its leadership in fixed-mobile services by creating a single entity offering integrated fixed broadband, mobile services and digital content to communities, businesses and the government.
“As digital lifestyles, increasing competition and stakeholder expectations reshape the industry, consolidating these businesses into one operating entity will allow us to serve our diverse customer segments better and deliver their needs more quickly,” said Telekom Malaysia’s group chief executive, Imri Mokhtar.
TM Tech will continue to be led by Telekom Malaysia’s existing senior management and all of the telco’s partnerships, vendor and service agreements will remain in effect.
