TECNO launches Call of Duty mobile POVA cup in association with Skyesports

TECNO has partnered with South Asia’s leading esports tournament organizer, JetSynthesys’ Skyesports, to launch the Call of Duty Mobile India POVA Cup, a mobile gaming tournament set to take place throughout 2023. The tournament, which is the first season of the event, will feature top teams from across the country competing against each other in the popular first-person shooter video game Call of Duty: Mobile. The matches will be live-streamed on Skyesports’ official social media channels in four different languages ​​to reach gaming enthusiasts from all corners of the country.
The tournament will have a year-long format with multiple seasons, giving both amateur and professional players a chance to improve their skills and compete. The seasons will culminate in a Grand Finals at the end of 2023. The Call of Duty Mobile India POVA Cup is an annual property created by TECNO and Skyesports to grow a community of mobile gaming lovers and provide a performance-rich immersive experience on TECNO’s POVA line of smartphones.

India has more than 396 million gamers who spend an average of 14 hours per week gaming, according to Shiva Nandy, Founder and CEO of JetSynthesys’ Skyesports. Nandy added that the partnership with TECNO POVA will enable the company to directly spotlight its smartphones throughout the year to a young and tech-savvy audience. In FY 2022, India became the largest consumer of mobile games in terms of total downloads and had the highest share of game downloads globally at 17%. The Call of Duty Mobile India POVA Cup is well-positioned to tap into this large and growing market for mobile gaming in the country.
