Tech Heads to ITA Southeast Regionals – Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets

THE FLATS – Georgia Tech men’s tennis is back in action this week at the ITA Southeast Regionals in Tallahassee, Fla. Competition will begin on Thursday, Oct. 20 with the first round of singles qualifying and main draw doubles.

Six Jackets are set to compete in both singles and doubles play. Ángel Guerrero Melgar, Elias Shokry and Robert Bauer will start the tournament off for Tech in the singles qualifying draw. The draw will consist of two rounds and the eight winners will move on to the main draw singles.

Keshav Chopra, Marcus McDaniel and Rohan Sachdev automatically qualified for the main draw singles and will begin play on Friday, Oct. 21. Sachdev will face off against North Florida’s Matthew Carroll. Chopra’s and McDaniel’s opponents will be determined by the singles qualifying draw.

The first round of main draw doubles will start on Thursday as well and start times will be subject to players’ singles times.

Main Draw Doubles – First Round (Times May Change):

J. Rodriguez/L. Oliver (STET) vs. R. Sachdev/Á. Guerrero Melgar (GT) at 4 pm

E. Shokry/M. McDaniel (GT) vs. E. Oncins/R. Wilson (FGCU) at 5:30 p.m

K. Chopra/R. Bauer (GT) vs. G. Stefanacci/M. Sepulveda (FGCU) at 5:30 pm
