Sydney’s NBA Gallery Celebrates The Most Iconic Players & Moments

The interests of an art gallery enthusiast and a diehard NBA basketball fan have never truly intersected. But considering the sport’s rising popularity here in Australia – as well as its connection to the domestic sporting-cum-fashion culture – an NBA gallery was almost inevitable.

The NBA is launching an official pop-up exhibition in Sydney this month, which is set to be a multi-media experience centered on Australia’s connection to the history of the American sporting league. From installations to graffiti works, you can expect an exciting showcase of our country’s art and culture scene as a whole.

The NBA gallery includes original artwork from artists such as Dennis Golding, Kris Andrew Small, Mini Swoosh, Nike Savvas, Noah Johnson, Roman Jody, Scott Marsh, Serwah Attafuah, as well as Sonny Day.

Alongside this, you’ll also be able to watch NBA Australia’s new series Ingrained – which has been given its own room to be screened at this exhibition.

The show, created by Matthew Adekponya, features a wide range of Aussie athletes discussing our basketball culture, including the WNBA’s Opal Ezi Magbegor and maverick tennis superstar Nick Kyrgios. And for those who can’t make it, fear not — episodes will be uploaded to NBA Australia’s social channels.

The NBA Gallery will be hosted at Sydney’s EDDY entertainment complex (near Central Station) from August 18th to September 1st. Opening hours will be from 11 AM to 7 PM every single day while entry will be completely free.
