The Boston Celtics made a strong comeback attempt but ultimately fell short against the New York Knicks in their penultimate contest of the NBA’s 2023 Las Vegas Summer League on Friday evening. Despite being down by 23 points early in the game, the Celtics managed to cut the lead to 77-75 with 8 minutes remaining in the game.
However, the Sin City Celtics could not complete the comeback and lost to the Summer Knicks 97-89 despite a breakout game from 6-foot-9 Boston floor general Dalano Banton. Despite the loss, the Celtics had a balanced effort with six players scoring in double figures, including Banton’s 18 points and 9 rebounds.
The Celtics’ record in the Las Vegas Summer League now stands at 1-3, and their next game is against the Orlando Magic on July 15, but if you want a look at how they played on Friday, take a look at the clip embedded below courtesy of the NBA’s official YouTube channel.
