Even though Stephen Curry has already won four NBA titles with the Golden State Warriors, the most recent one probably has no comparison to any of the rest. He had never won the Finals MVP award despite having led his team in all four titles. Other players such as Andre Iguodala or Kevin Durant took the award in the last three occasions.
Even though he won two consecutive titles with KD, Curry acknowledges this one tasted very different compared to the rest. Everybody could see him during the celebrations, he broke down overwhelmed with joy after the final whistle during Game 6 of the NBA Finals against the Boston Celtics.
Curry picks his favorite from all four rings
During a sit-down with Sports Illustrated, Stephen Curry was first asked about crying right after the final whistle. This is what he said: “Absolutely. You don’t find me ugly crying on the court for no reason. That raw emotion that came out after Game 6 kind of signaled how much this meant to me, how much this meant to our team .
“The first [championship], you don’t really know what you’re doing until you accomplish it and then you’re celebrating. The next two were kind of validation for trying to remain champions. But after these last three years, winning that one [2022], definitely the most special. I want this one [2022]. Give me this one, all day every day.”
Can Stephen Curry win more rings?
Considering how dominant the Golden State Warriors were throughout the entire NBA season, it’s not wild to think they still have a chance to win more rings. Competition will be stiff in the West with always dangerous competitors such as Los Angeles Lakers, Dallas Mavericks, or Phoenix Suns. But if one man can lead the Warriors to win more rings, that man is definitely Stephen Curry.
