The San Antonio Spurs announced the release of the guard Joshua Primo on Friday without offering further explanation.
Ramona Shelburne and Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN reported Saturday that the franchise released Primo over “multiple alleged instances of him exposing himself to women.”
Primo, 19, was the 12th overall pick in 2021 NBA draft and might not play in the league ever again.
Prior to the ESPN bombshell, Primo had stated that he was “seeking help to deal with a past trauma” he suffered.
If Primo wants an NBA team to claim him off waivers, he’ll need to explain the report and offer an apology if necessary.
Primo claimed to be currently taking the time to work on his mental health, although it now seems he had no choice.
Will the NBA ban Joshua Primo?
A former Spurs employee who allegedly exposed himself to her has hired a lawyer Tony Buzzbeethe man who represented the women in multiple sexual misconduct cases against NFL quarterback Deshaun Watsonaccording to Shams Charania of The Athletic.
His situation, although still not entirely clear, is a lot like what Watson was accused of this offseason.
Watson, who settled almost every one of the 24 cases, was not criminally charged and the NFL only suspended him for 11 games.
Primo doesn’t have the same cache as Watson when it comes to athletic value, so the NBA might not be as forgiving as the NFL.
