Former Boston Celtics big man Juancho “Bo Cruz” Hernangomez did his best to push the Spanish National Team to a win in EuroBasket play on Sunday, but Spain fell 83-73 to a determined Belgian National Team despite the efforts of the star of the Netflix “Hustle” film to prevent it.
The Celtics alum put up 11 points, 3 rebounds, an assist, and as many steals in just under 26 minutes of floor time on his way to picking up just 1 personal foul and turning the ball over 0 times. The Madrid native managed to shoot an efficient 50% from the floor overall, 40% from the 3-point range, and 75% from the free throw line in the loss.
“When we go above and beyond the limits of our energy we can be a good team,” said Spanish National Team head coach Sergio Scariolo via Eurohoops.
“When we don’t, like tonight, we are not. We know that our fuel comes from our defense.”
