COLUMBIA, Mo. – The University of Missouri track and field team split up competitors and participated in two different meets over the weekend — the Indiana Relays in Bloomington, Ind. and the Texas Tech Invitational in Lubbock, Texas. The Tigers had eight podium placements across the two meets, which included three first-place finishers (Quentin Worley, Christopher Conrad and Kelsey Schweizer).
NOTABLE FINISHES:
In the Texas Tech Invitational, Isabelle Sokolova ran a program-best 8.38s in the women’s 60m hurdles finals — placing seventh overall.
In the Indiana Relays, Quentin Worley, Trevor Peimann and Blake Morris placed first through third, respectively, in the men’s 5000m. Christopher Conrad won the men’s 800m, while Kelsey Schweizer won the women’s mile. Alicia Burnett earned second in the women’s 60m, while Chris McKinzy Jr. earned silver in the men’s 60m hurdles. The men’s team additionally finished second in the 4×400.
UP NEXT:
Missouri will enjoy a two-week break before returning to the competition February 10, where the team will be split up to compete in three different events — Music City Challenge in Nashville, Tenn.; Don Kirby Elite Invitational in Alberquerque, NM; Husky Classic in Seattle, Wash.
