CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. — The Chattanooga women’s soccer team remains on the road to take on Austin Peay Sunday afternoon at the Morgan Brothers Soccer Field in Clarksville. The match is set to kick off at 2:00 pm Eastern time.
CHATTANOOGA vs. AUSTIN PEAY
The Mocs and Govs have met 15 times since 2002. Austin Peay leads the series 10-4-1 and is 6-1 in Clarksville. Five of the last six matches have been decided by one goal and the sixth was a 1-1 draw.
LAST MEETING
The last time the two teams met was in 2021 in Chattanooga. The Govs won the match 2-1. Austin Peay scored his two goals in the first 20 minutes of play and the Mocs’ Mackenzie Smith found the back of the net in the 86th minute to get on the board. UTC outshot the Govs 17-8 with a 10-5 shots on goal advantage. Corner kicks were 10-1 in the Mocs’ favor, but APSU had nine saves to the Mocs’ three.

Chattanooga is 0-2-1 overall. The Mocs scored a draw at Georgia State Thursday night in Atlanta on a late goal from the freshman Clarissa Salinas. She and senior Maggie Shaw have each scored for the Mocs while freshman Caroline Ekern made her first start in goal and had a team-best six saves on the year while a senior Abbey Saddlerwith two starts, has four saves.
ABOUT AUSTIN PEAY
The Govs are 0-0-3 on the year with draws at Miami (Ohio) and Evansville and at home against Idaho State. Anna McPhie scored Austin Peay’s lone goal that was assisted by Haley Patterson. Chloe Dion has all three starts in the net and has nine saves with one goal against.
