(ANSA) – ROME, OCT 17 – Napoli stretched their winning streak in all competitions to 10 games on Sunday, beating Bologna 3-2 at home to stay two points clear at the top of Serie A.
“It was a huge win which allows us to maintain our positive energy going forward,” said Napoli coach Luciano Spalletti.
“Winning 10 matches in a row makes me really happy, because after lots of fast-paced games, there was a danger that our performance level could drop. “The team are playing great football, but what I like the most is how involved and together they are making sure that they achieve their objectives in whatever way necessary.
“The lads showed they have a great mentality, always going after possession and creating lots of chances”.
Napoli have 26 points from 10 games, while second-placed Udinese have 24 following a 2-1 home win over Sassuolo.
Champions AC Milan are one point further back in third thanks to a 2-1 at Hellas Verona.
Fourth-paced Lazio and fifth-place Udinese both have 21 points after battling out a goalless draw in Rome.
Sixth-placed AS Roma can climb to fourth if they beat bottom side Sampdoria away on Monday.
Inter, who are seventh, continued their recovery from a bad spell of form by beating Salernitana 2-0 at home.
Eight-placed Juventus beat city rivals Torino 1-0 on Saturday.
