The Falster Gen 6 has the same specs as the latest Fossil smartwatch, albeit with a different, Skagen-branded design. As such, it has been eligible for the latest Wear OS 3 update from Google since its release. Then again, it is only now turning up on the Snapdragon Wear 4100+ wearable.
Gen 6 owners flocked to sites such as Reddit to share their enthusiasm for the long-awaited software upgrade. However, many of them have also exhibited subsequent disappointment via the same channels, as it seems the new software is not all they may have imagined based on the features touted for other Wear OS 3 devices.
For example, additional brands direct from the Pixel Watch may have been an option; however, not only do Falster Gen 6 users assert that not only have they not arrived with the update, but that there are now fewer original Skagen watch-faces, with their count down to 8.
Potentially more crucially, other owners maintain that a screen-dimming option has gone missing, leading to fears of reduced battery life under Wear OS 3. Finally, the update reportedly removes Google Assistant from the Gen 6.
Skagen has yet to respond to these concerns publicly, although it is just possible that some of these new discrepancies might be fixed with the next update to the latest Falster variant.

I became a professional writer and editor shortly after graduation. My degrees are in biomedical sciences; however, they led to some experience in the biotech area, which convinced me of its potential to revolutionize our health, environment and lives in general. This developed into an all-consuming interest in more aspects of tech over time: I can never write enough on the latest electronics, gadgets and innovations. My other interests include imaging, astronomy, and streaming all the things. Oh, and coffee.
