New Philadelphia 76ers coach Nick Nurse is getting ready to build his coaching staff as he begins a new era in coaching the Sixers after four seasons with the Toronto Raptors.
The Sixers lost assistant Sam Cassell to the Boston Celtics after he spent three seasons in Philadelphia with former coach Doc Rivers. It is also expected that Dan Burke will join Monty Williams and the Detroit Pistons which is normal. When a new coach comes in, he normally would like to have his own staff.
The Sixers will add former Sacramento Kings guard and assistant coach Bobby Jackson to Nurse’s staff. Jackson won the 6th Man of the Year award in 2003 when he averaged 15.2 points and 3.7 rebounds off Sacramento’s bench. He was an assistant with the Kings in the 2011-12 and 2012-13 seasons. He was coach of the G League’s Stockton Kings in the 2022-23 season.

Jackson will likely work with the likes of Tyrese Maxey and the other young guards on the roster in order to help them continue to develop. He did some player development work with Sacramento in the 2019-20 and 2020-21 seasons.
