Shocking! Man orders Asus gaming laptop, gets ROCKS; horror reply from Flipkart

A Flipkart customer reported being scammed when he ordered a gaming laptop. Initial Flipkart reply was horrifying for him.

In a shocking development, a man named Chinmaya Ramana reported that he got duped when he ordered an Asus gaming laptop from Flipkart during the recent festive sales. Flipkart had a nearly month-long sale running on its website, beginning with the Big Dussehra Sale and concluding the festive season with its Big Diwali Sale. During this time, the e-commerce giant offered great deals and huge discounts on smartphones, accessories, electronics, home appliances and more. Millions of customers took advantage of the price cuts and grabbed electronics at amazing prices. However, it did not go well for all.

A man named Chinmaya Ramana, hailing from Mangaluru claimed that he ordered an Asus TUF Gaming F15 gaming laptop on October 15 for his friend but received rocks and e-waste in the box. Chinmaya Ramana shared many pictures of the product he received via his Twitter account. Ramana tweeted, “Ordered for laptop and received a big stone and E-waste! During Diwali sale on Flipkart!”

To prevent such cases from happening, Flipkart has recently introduced the option of Open-Box delivery which allows customers to open the box and check the product in front of the delivery personnel before sharing the delivery OTP. However, Ramana claimed that open-box delivery was not available in these cases.

Flipkart’s initial response

Ramana immediately reported the issue to Flipkart who initially denied any refund or return as the product was in the box without any visible proof of tampering at the time of delivery. Chinmaya said, “I informed Flipkart about the scam with all the evidence the same day, they said they needed time to resolve the complaint. On October 23, I was emailed informing that the seller had rejected the return request and there was no damage to the product during transportation.” The customer further claimed that although the box was not damaged, a few details and the barcode on the product were damaged.

After the complaint got public, Flipkart then compensated the customer and refunded the full amount. Ramana updated everyone via his Twitter account, “Guys issue is closed. Flipkart refunded my full amount. I will continue my shopping with Flipkart.”

Lesson for everyone is to ensure that they record the entire delivery proceedings in front of the delivery boy and even open the parcel then and there to avoid any such shocking instances.
