Seminole slipped in the standings on the second day of the Class 4A UIL state girls golf tournament.
After being two shots out of second place with a 342 following play Monday, Seminole shot a 353 Tuesday to finish tied for sixth in the team standings.
Kilee Ivy paced the Seminole contingent with a 168 for the tournament. Chloe Doeksen shot a 172.
Andrews ran away with the team title, shooting a 624 overall. Canyon finished second at 665 and Comal Davenport third at 676.
Class 1A
A few days after breaking three state track records and earning a trio of gold medals, Springlake-Earth’s Taytum Goodman wrapped up play in the 1A state girls golf tournament by firing a 91.
Goodman finished the tournament with a 194, coming in 18th individually.
Borden County’s Brette Kaite Behrens finished at 211 to contribute to the Lady Coyotes’ team score of 947.
Happy’s Halle Jo Johnson repeated as the individual state champion with a final score of 161.
Class 2A
Just two South Plains athletes competed in the 2A state girls golf tournament.
Sudan’s Landree Gonzales shot a 99 on Tuesday to finish with a 193 overall. Olton’s Kylee Noack wasn’t too far behind, totaling 197 with a 94 on the final day.
