SEC Names Four Tigers to Soccer Preseason Watchlist

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Southeastern Conference released the 2022 Preseason Watchlist Wednesday, Aug. 17. The list consists of 67 total student-athletes with Missouri Soccer having four representatives for the third consecutive year.

Junior defender Grace Pettet earned a spot on the list for the first time in her career. Pettet played in all 17 matches, while making 16 starts in 2021. The veteran defender helped the backline to a trio of shutouts in the 2021 season, including an overtime win over Miami (Fla.), Sept. 2.

Making her second appearance on the watchlist, sophomore Milena Fischer is the only player of the four to be selected previously. Fischer led the team as a freshman in scoring and points with five and 15, respectively. The midfielder was also named to the 2021 SEC All-Freshman Team for her efforts.

Rounding out the representatives from Mizzou are redshirt freshman goalkeeper Bella Hollenbach and freshman midfielder Hannah Boughton. In Texas, Hollenbach was named 6A Region II All-State First Team and District 13-6A Goalkeeper of the Year in 2021 before redshirting her first season in Columbia. Meanwhile Boughton, also a native of Texas, was listed as the No. 63 midfielder in the 2022 class and scored 65 goals over two seasons at Colleyville Covenant Christian Academy.

The Tigers open their season Thursday, Aug. 18 at 7 pm against SEMO, at Audrey J. Walton Soccer Stadium. Admission is free or fans can watch the action on SEC Network+.
