The Brooklyn Nets are firing on all cylinders – and Ben Simmons looks a lot better.

Brooklyn exploded out of the gates in Thursday’s home clash against the New York Knicks – dominating the first quarter 39-22 behind a dominant start from Kevin Durant.

Brooklyn kept its foot on the pedal in the second term to take a 69-44 lead into the main break in a one-sided affair.

Durant was doing it all in an enormous showing from the superstar in putting the team on his back.

He racked up 15 points, nine assists and had no turnovers, with his selfless, pass-first mentality reflective of how the whole team was playing – where 77 percent of Brooklyn’s half-time score game came from assists.

Simmons was also arguably the most productive he’d been all season, while still coming off the bench as he ramps back up from a knee injury.

The Aussie had two points, six rebounds, two assists and two steals in 12 minutes, but his effort and energy went beyond the stat sheet, diving for rebounds and making plays for his teammates.

He simply looked more comfortable on the floor and moved much better including making arguably his best play of the season, grabbing a big offensive rebound between two Knicks players and then kicking out to Seth Curry for a three-pointer.

Simmons made another key hustle play in a run-down steal off Julius Randle leading to a Joe Harris three-pointer.

MORE TO COME.
